Description
Position in Bioinformatics Mosaiques Diagnostics is one of the leading and fast growing companies in the field of clinical proteomics with over 10 years experience in the area (www.mosaiques-diagnostics.com). We have a position available for a post-doctoral fellow in the context of the European Marie Curie Initial Training Network (ITN) project iMode-CKD (www.imodeckd.org). The position is initially for 24 months covering the iMODE-CKD project, but can be extended for an unlimited period of time. The purpose of the iMODE-CKD program is to identify the molecular features associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression. CKD is a major health burden, affecting up to 10% of the population. In the iMode-CKD project, different “omics” technologies (proteomics, metabolomics, genomics, etc…) are employed to investigate in depth urine, plasma, and tissue samples from patients from multiple clinical centres. This task is performed by different laboratories to investigate the process of CKD progression on a molecular level. The successful candidate will be responsible for combining the clinical and molecular data available from the partner’s laboratories as well as data from literature with the final aim to establish a molecular map of the biological processes involved in CKD progression. (S)he will work in a multidisciplinary stimulatory industrial environment of the company but will also interact frequently with the academic and industrial partners and hence have a key role being at the interface between clinicians, molecular biologists and bioinformaticians. For details, go to www.imodeckd.org. The successful applicant will work jointly with scientists in Greece, France, Italy, Netherlands, Macedonia, UK, and Germany, and will be stationed in Hannover, Germany. Candidates are requested to hold a PhD in biology, informatics, bioinformatics or relevant fields and have expertise in programming and a record of scientific publications. Experience in “omics” technology and data handling and bioinformatics tools for –omics data analysis are desirable.. English proficiency (spoken, written) and excellent communication skills are required. According to the funding program regulations, the recruited investigator must have legally resided and have had their principal activities (work, studies, etc.) outside Germany for at least 3 out of the last 4 years. The contract will be for 24 months initially, with the option to extend for an unlimited period of time. Salary (ER4-10 level) and other benefits will follow the Marie Curie rules and include travel expenses, mobility allowance and career exploratory allowance. To apply, please send a cover letter describing your suitability for the position, detailed CV, and the name and address of two referees to support your application by email to Harald Mischak (mischak@mosaiques.de) by October 15, 2014Additional Job Details
