Job Description:
The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is seeking applicants for a full-time postdoctoral fellow position in Bioinformatics or Microbiome Analysis in the laboratory of Dr. Vanessa Phelan. The research project focuses on using multi-omics methods to measure the structure and function of in vitro microbiome communities to elucidate the effect of pharmaceutical treatment on the microbiome. The lab takes a multidisciplinary approach, applying modern tools in combination with traditional chemical, molecular and biochemical approaches to investigate the role of small molecules in the development and persistence of polymicrobial infections, particularly those affecting cystic fibrosis patients. We are seeking a highly motivated and independent postdoctoral fellow to lead microbiome analyses. Qualifications: Minimum qualifications: A Ph.D. in bioinformatics, microbial ecology, or a closely related field. Candidates with strong knowledge and experience in multi-omics analyses are highly desired.
