Job Description:
Our group is part of the big department of development, reproduction and cancer in Institut Cochin. The hospital and the research center of the institute are located in a nice central district of Paris close to Port Royal and in a walking proximity from the Luxembourg garden. The institute provides access to the state-of-the-art facilities including Genomics, Proteomics, and Imaging.
The post-doctoral project will involve analysis of histone modifications profiles in neuroblastoma and adrenocortical carcinoma primary tumors coupled with the analysis of genetic events (mutations and amplifications in cancer pathways). Depending on the candidate’s background and experience, this project may involve development of computational methodology, data mining and wet lab experiments to validate computational results or work on drug sensitivity. This project will implicate production and analysis of several types of high-throughput data including targeted sequencing, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq and RNA-seq data. The candidate will interact with top leading groups in cancer biology that are parts of the laboratory of endocrine tumors and signaling of Institut Cochin and the laboratory of genetics and biology of cancers of Institut Curie. In summary, we offer an opportunity to work on a complex biological question with the application of high-throughput data that has direct implications in the research against cancer. The candidate can come both from the bioinformatics or molecular biology fields but should be highly motivated to work with big data and dig into cancer epigenomics. A doctoral degree, experience in bioinformatics analysis, and proficiency in English, are required. Programming skills, strong computational and mathematical background or experience in cellular and molecular biology would be a plus.
