Job Description:
The Ressom Lab at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center has an immediate opening for a post-doctoral research associate in bioinformatics to work in a multi-disciplinary environment on cancer biomarker discovery and systems biology research. The candidate will be responsible for analysis of omic data acquired by high-throughput technologies such as mass-spectrometry and next generation sequencing. This includes: (1) pre-processing of mass-spectrometric and next generation sequencing data; (2) identification of differentially altered molecules by statistical and network-based methods; and (3) integration of multi-omic data by network-based and machine learning methods to identify cancer biomarkers and to advance systems biology research.

The position requires a Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, computer science, engineering, biostatistics, or related field with relevant experience in computational biology. In addition, applicants should have demonstrated research experience in omic data analysis and machine learning methods such as deep learning. Programming skills in R, MATLAB, or Python are highly desirable.
