Job Description:
Post Doctoral Researcher (Job Opening 432746) - Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue advanced training and specialized research experience in biomedical informatics within the Department of Biomedical Informatics; works independently and collaboratively to develop novel computational tools for biomedical data analysis, and perform large-scale analysis using omics data; assists in identifying new biomedical data analysis technology and trends; participates as a team member with lab staff, collaborative researchers, and students and to interpret data and discuss project progress; collaborates with other researchers in determining research priorities and planning programs of research; performs relevant published literature searches; assists with writing and submitting grant proposals to extramural funding agencies; write research manuscripts, articles, and abstracts; write project reports; presents ongoing work and findings at local, national, and international conferences; Education and experience: Ph.D. degree in one of the following areas: Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or other disciplines with strong quantitative background; proficiency in at least one programming language, such as R, C, Python or MATLAB, is strongly preferred; knowledge in genomics, genetics, or proteomics is desired but not required; requires successful completion of a background check; selected candidate may be required to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen;
