Job Description:
This position is responsible for developing and implementing computational algorithms and a system to analyze large-scale multi-omics data, with integration of existing public database of signaling pathways into computational analysis. Primary duties include, but are limited to, applying the developing methods to cancer biomarkers, progression and target discovery, in collaboration with biomedical scientists; developing and applying novel computational alogorithms to analyze large-scale multi- omics data; analyzing large omics data in collaboration with biomedical scientist; aiding PI with development of research proposals; writing and presenting papers; mentoring graduate and undergraduate students with research. Preferred Education: The position requires a Ph.D. ideally in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Sciences or Electrical Engineering with experience in related field of research. Previous Post-Doctoral experience is a plus but not required. Preferred Experience Requirements: The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills (C++, JAVA, R, Python or equivalent), experience with public genomic databases such as dbGap or GDC and knowledge databases such as Pathways Commons. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: The candidate should have very good knowledge and training in areas of computational and systems biology or big data analytics. The candidate should have strong skills in MATLAB, R, C/C++ or other statistical software.
