Job Description:
Asuragen, a leading molecular diagnostics company, is seeking an outstanding Ph.D. scientist to join our growing R&D team as a Post-Doctoral researcher (two-year appointment). This position requires scientific creativity, independence, and a passion to develop innovative technologies at the frontier of molecular diagnostics.
Requirements
Areas of research may include:
• Development of novel diagnostic assays or platforms for the detection of DNA and RNA disease biomarkers, particularly for oncology applications
• Development of inventive methods for the sensitive and specific quantification of protein markers
• Development of precision medicine applications using next-generation sequencing technologies
The successful candidate will continue to build their career by conceiving and writing grant applications, authoring peer-reviewed manuscripts, contributing to patent applications, and representing the company at scientific conferences. Qualifications:
• A Ph.D. degree in the biological or biochemical sciences or related field
• A strong track record of independence, innovation, and productivity through multiple peer-reviewed publications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A strong desire to contribute to improving patient care through diagnostic technologies, particularly in oncology or genetics
Direct research experience in nucleic acid or protein assay development, novel detection or quantification technologies/platforms, or clinical applications of next-generation sequencing is a plus.
