Job Description:
The Center for the Advanced Study of Human Paleobiology ( CASHP ) invites applications for a full-time post-doctoral associate to join the new Primate Evolutionary Genomics Lab at the George Washington University. The successful candidate will participate in collaborative research examining patterns of gene expression in primate tissues to understand the evolution of primate traits. S/he will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of evolutionary biologists (http://cashp.columbian.gwu.edu/core-faculty) and to interact with CASHP -affiliated faculty, including those at the Smithsonian Institution.

Candidates should have a PhD in Anthropology, Genetics, Biology, Bioinformatics or a relevant discipline prior to the start date. Strong preference will be given to candidates who have expertise/experience with computational approaches to analyzing large-scale sequence data sets (e.g. RNA -seq, genome sequencing, etc.). The successful candidate will be directly involved in generating and analyzing comparative transcriptomic/genomic data for a variety of species to address questions regarding the adaptive evolution of primates. Duties will include sample preparation, assembly and analyses of data, publication and presentation of results, and helping mentor graduate and undergraduate students. The successful applicant will also be encouraged to explore new research directions of his/her choosing.

Evaluation of candidates will begin February 13, 2015 and continue until the position is filled. Minimum Qualifications:
