Job Description:
We are looking for a postdoctoral scientist to explore several applications of NGS, comparative genomics, and functional genomics for parasitic worms. Of particular interest is the characterization of mechanisms involved in host-parasite communications, and development of high throughput platforms relevant to those mechanisms. This position sits in the multi-disciplinary Elanco Research Labs, with access to mentorship and expertise from several functions in early drug discovery. - Drive success of selected projects in cooperation with your mentor and an interdisciplinary advisory committee
- Communicate effectively with internal and academic collaborators
- Attend and present your work at scientific conferences
- Publish your work in peer-reviewed journals
- Actively participate in relevant communities of practice at Elanco and Lilly
- Experience in application of standard genomics tools
- Deep knowledge of nematode biology
- Deep knowledge of fundamentals of filarial parasites/parasitism
- Experience in comparative and/or functional genomics
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as effectively collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and scientific creativity are essential
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and organizational skills are required as is the ability to effectively communicate across our global scientific community
- Ability to travel to conferences
