Job Description:
We are seeking a highly talented and motivated full-time postdoc for 2 years from 1 July 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is limited to 2 years. Responsibilities And Tasks: The postdoc will mainly be working across 3 ongoing research projects namely the FeedOMICS project, the GUDP Boar Taint project and the GIFT project, all headed by Professor Haja Kadarmideen. He/she will assist in developing a strong program of research in quantitative and systems genomics and bioinformatics in collaboration with section/department’s scientists and assisting MSc/PhD students in the group/section. -Develop and conduct cutting-edge and highly relevant research in quantitative genetics, systems genomics, systems biology and bioinformatics in animals, animal models and humans -Specific focus will be on multi-omics (genomics, epigenomic and transcriptomics datasets; array and NGS-based) datasets generated from our own experiments and those publicly made available in pigs and cattle -Active dissemination of research results via internationally peer-reviewed journal articles and seminars, workshops and conferences -Advice, support and closely work with MSc and PhD students of the group/section -Work closely with the staff of the national life science supercomputing center - Computerome -Develop/participate in the development of bioinformatics and systems genomics software and analysis pipelines (e.g. using R packages, Perl, C++) in close cooperation with members of the section of Systems Genomics -Take part in BSc and MSc courses related to quantitative and systems genomics and bioinformatics, if appropriate. -This job description is only an outline of the main tasks, but the jobholder will carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required by the head of the QSG group.

Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD degree. Further Qualifications: -A PhD degree must be in computational genetics/genomics, genome-informatics, bioinformatics, computational systems biology or closely related discipline. -The candidate has a solid understanding of life sciences and molecular biology. -Minimum of two international journal publications in the relevant area. -A good experience in working with UNIX / LINUX computing systems and competent in many programming languages including R. -A good experience in working with software programs relevant for one or more of the following: genetic/genomic data analyses, bioinformatics, NGS analysis tools . -Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills in English. -It is important to enhance the objective and technical qualifications of the position.Requeriments :
