Job Description:
Our research group is aiming to improve our understanding of the spread of drug-resistant bacteria and to help develop and evaluate interventions to combat their spread. We are seeking to recruit up to three postdoctoral computational biologists who will play a key role in the bacterial resistance analysis group within the mathematical modelling team at the Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (Bangkok).

As the successful candidate, you will have a PhD or equivalent with experience covering at least one of the following: mathematical modelling, biostatistics, bioinformatics. Experience of analysing large or complex data-sets and experience in scientific programming (ideally including knowledge of R) is essential for this role. You will have experience of managing your own academic research and associated activities with ability to contribute ideas for new research projects and research income generation. Prior knowledge of and interest in the population biology of bacteria and antimicrobial resistance would be a distinct advantage.
