The Flint Animal Cancer Center has received 3 years of funding from the Anschutz foundation to explore the molecular landscape of canine cancers. We propose to utilize this funding to genetically sequence four common canine cancers with significant similarity to their human counterparts with the goal of identifying conserved gene mutations that closely align to human cancers. We are advertising this postdoctoral research position to identify an individual with expertise in Bioinformatic analysis to aid in the conduct and analysis of next generation sequencing studies to identify these driving mutations and confirm their role in the pathogenesis of canine cancers.

Required Job Qualifications:

-Advanced Degree: PhD, MD, or DVM

-Experience in Bioinformatic analysis of next generation sequencing data and publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

Experience in genetic analysis of cancer models preferred but not required.
