Job Description:
The principal duties and obligations of the appointment are to perfrom systems biology rsearch in human-micorbiome interactions as part of interdisciplinary teams. The generated data and analysis will result in significant articles published in highly ranked, peer-reviewed research journals. The incumbent will work on microbiome and human heal related projects in the College of Public Health and the College of Nursing, University of South Florida (USF). He/She will be part of interdisciplinary programs focusing on the relationships between the human health outcomes. The suitable candidate will use innovative approaches to answer human health questions involving genetics, metablolmics, transcriptiomics, genomics and epigenomics. The project will involve comoputational analysis, integration and modeling of large-scal data sets. Atten conferences, particpate in prepartation of grant applications, and write scientific papers based on research findings. Assit with oversight of graduate students. QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience): Minimum Qualifications: Incumbent must have a PhD or equivalent degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, statistical genetics, or systems biology. Incubment should have expxerience working with large biological data sets from human populations, particularly Next Generation Sequencing (NCIS) data sets. Preferred Qualifications: Profiecient in UNIX environment; and gluent in at least one programming language such as C++, Java, Pert, or Python. Record of academic and rsearch achievements. Incumbent must be highly motivated, think independently and work as part of integrated multidisciplinary research teams. Three years of experience.
