Job Description:
Dr. Yinghao Wu's lab in Albert Einstein College of Medicine at New York City is currently seeking motivated and innovative scientists for postdoctoral fellows at the cutting edge of computational biophysics and systems biology. The candidates will participate in a multidisciplinary environment. They will have access to high-performance computing facility and high-quality data measured by state-of-the-art experimental techniques. The candidates will also have opportunities to interact with leaders of experimental and computational biologists in New York area. The research of Wu lab is focused on developing multiscale computational models to understand the spatial-temporal mechanisms that regulate the intercellular communications and intracellular signaling networks in various biological systems.

Qualifications:

Any applicants with a Ph.D. from a variety of disciplines including physics, mathematics, chemistry, bioengineering and computational biology will be considered. They must have a strong background in quantitative biology, biophysics, systems biology or related fields. Previous experiences in developing computational or mathematical methods for biological systems on either molecular or cellular level are highly desirable. Background knowledge in immunology or cancer biology will be a plus. A successful application also requires basic computational skills such as Linux, Perl, C++, Python, Fortran, Mathematica or MatLab. The researches in Wu Lab involve close collaborations with multiple experimental laboratories within and outside of the institute. Therefore, candidates are expected to have excellent communication skills.

The lab is currently funded by a five-year grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study cell-surface receptors on immune cells, which could lead to better treatments for immune diseases.
