Postdoctoral Fellowship in big data to knolwedge researchUniv of PittsburghBiomedical InformaticsPA-Pittsburgh An NIH-fund center of excellence in big data to knowledge (BD2K) at the University of Pittsburgh has multiple openings for outstanding postdoctoral researchers. The center concentrates on developing and implementation of Bayesian causal inference algorithms in biomedical setting, with cancer signaling pathways and inflammatory lung disease as driving biological domains. We are recruiting outstanding bioinformatics, computational biologists, and computer scientists to participate in the research activities of the center.

The Department of Biomedical Informatics has a long and outstanding history of training independent researchers in biomedical informatics. The University of Pittsburgh is an active research center of biomedical research; the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University jointly create an outstanding academic environment for computational biology and translational bioinformatics.   Candidates should have a PhD degree in the following areas: computational biology, mathematics, bioinformatics, statistics or biostatistics, and computer sciences. Candidates with strong background in statistics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and computational biology are strongly encouraged to apply.
