Job Description:
A two-year postdoctoral fellowship is available at the Bioinformatics Centre, Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen. The position will be available from December 1, 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is in the group of Professor Anders Krogh. The group is working in computational methods for next-generation sequencing. The postdoc will be working within a project on antibiotic resistance, which is in collaboration with other groups at University of Copenhagen and the Technical University of Denmark. The aim of the project is to identify genes that enable development of resistance. Qualifications: The postdoc will be expected to participate both in the development of computational tools and in the analysis of data from the experimental partners in the project. As a postdoc you are expected to be able to work fairly independently and to be able to co-supervise Ph.D. and Master’s students. For consideration, applicants must:

- Have a PhD in bioinformatics, statistics or a similar field
- Have demonstrated experience in the analysis of high-throughput DNA Sequencing data
- Be experienced with programming in perl, Python, or similar, and be familiar with linux/unix
- Have experience in statistics (including R) and probabilistic models
- Have published in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals
- Experience with genome-wide association studies
- Experience with analysis of bacterial genomes
- Ability to program in C or C++
