BIOINFORMATICIAN, GENOMIC ANALYSES OF NEUROBLASTOMA One postdoctoral position is available at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. The position is part of the NNBCR consortium – Novel Neuroblastoma Biomarkers of Clinical Relevance (http://www.nnbcr.se).NNBCR is financed by the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research. The overall aim of the project is to identify novel biomarkers and increase our understanding of the molecular basis of the childhood cancer neuroblastoma. NNBCR includes several research groups from the University of Gothenburg and Karolinska Institutet. The project will involve analysis of whole-genome sequencing data from neuroblastoma tumors, including detection of somatic mutations and structural alterations. The successful applicant will also be responsible for integrative analyses aimed at combining data from public sources and from the various efforts in the consortium. The work will be carried out in collaboration with experimental researchers. Relevant recent publications include: Caren et al., PNAS 2010; Fredriksson et al, Nature Genetics 2014. Tang K-W et al, Nature Communications 2013; Akrami et al., PLoS One 2013; Jeggari A et al, Bioinformatics 2012. The work will be performed in the research groups of Prof. Tommy Martinsson and Erik Larsson Lekholm, the Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg. Excellent communicative skills are required, including fluency in oral and written English.
