Job Description:
The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of computational, and molecular biologists, working on an exciting ICST European project: AdaLab (Adaptive Automated Scientific Laboratory: http://www.chistera.eu/projects/adalab ) funded by CHIST-ERA. She/He will be responsible for building a knowledge base about yeast diauxic shift as well as developing machine-learning algorithms for network inference and experimental design to be used in the Robot Scientist platform (Professor Ross King).
The successful candidate will be offered an initial contract for 24 months (100% FTE) with possible extension for an additional 12 months depending on performance. We offer a competitive compensation package, which will be commensurate upon qualifications and experience.
The iSSB is part of Genopole, a consortium of leading research academic and private laboratories in biotechnology, genomics, post-genomics and related sciences. The job location is in Evry, 35 km south of Paris, 40 min from the centre by suburban train.
We invite applications from researchers which hold (or be very close to completion) a PhD in machine learning, knowledge representation, active learning, computational system biology or a related field.
