Job Description:
There are exciting immediate postdoctoral openings on cutting edge human disease genomics, computational biology and bioinformatic translational-oriented research at the new Laboratory of Computational Human Genomics of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai's Department of Genetics and Genomics and Institute for Personalized Medicine. This is a unique opportunity to become a major player of the genomic revolution where computational discoveries directly benefit patients' treatment and drug discovery.

We aim to elucidate the genetics underlying human disease using computational methods, including deep learning, modeling and statistical genomics. The research will focus on large-scale detection of novel disease-causing genes, mutations and pathways in patients’ next generation sequencing data, and development of novel and cutting-edge genomics methodologies utilizing relevant layers-rich information.

The candidate should be highly motivated and talented, with strong programming and quantitative skills, and a genuine interest in human disease genomics and cutting edge computational methodologies.

A postdoctoral researcher would be offered generous subsidized housing in New York City and various other benefits including free gym access. The neighborhood is attractive, located near Central Park and major museums.

Position Requirements:

- Ph.D. in quantitative sciences, computational biology/bioinformatics, or biological sciences with a strong proven record of quantitative research.

- Strong programming skills in Python or C++. Machine learning, deep learning, R and SQL would be a bonus.

- Publication record in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics or machine learning. Strong interest in human genetics, genomics, and disease.

- Strong written and oral communication skills. A team player.
