We are seeking a full-time research assistant to join the Optical Wireless Communications research group at the Department of Engineering Science in central Oxford). The post is funded by EPSRC and is fixed-term to 28 February 2017.

The work is part of a programme grant on ultra-parallel visible light communications, with partners in Cambridge, Edinburgh, Strathclyde and St. Andrews. This work aims to create the visible light communications systems of the future, and involves all aspects of these, from devices through to working communications networks.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, implementation and testing of these photonic systems as well as helping to define a future vision for this area. They should have; a PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant field; experimental experience in at least one of optics and optoelectronics; modelling and simulation relevant to these areas, and have good verbal and written communication skills. They should also possess a high degree of self-motivation and the demonstrated ability or potential to publish their work in recognised journals.
