Job Description:
As a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Driskell Lab, a successful candidate will develop his or her own project investigating the function of fibroblast heterogeneity in the skin during development and wound repair using state of the art technologies in animal model systems. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enjoy a collaborative atmosphere with the lab and the School of Molecular Biosciences.

Responsibilities Include:

-Investigating novel animal models for experimentation in the context of skin development and repair.

-Integrating developmental and computational biology.

-Presenting the research through oral presentation and publication.

-Designing and carrying out experiments in the lab.

-Demonstrate commitment to promoting diversity in the workplace.

Required Qualifications :

-Ph.D. in Genetics, Computational Biology, Cell Biology or Biochemistry.

-Experience with transgenic mouse models, genetics and animal husbandry.

-Experience with histological and microscopy techniques.

-Experience in bioinformatics and gene expression profiling.

-Experience with confocal microscopy, RNA and protein extraction, and qRT- PCR .

-Excellent computer skills, especially with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Mac.

-The ability to problem-solve and learn new experimental techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Basic knowledge of viral and bacterial infections and cell culture.

-Ability to perform chromatin immunoprecipitation.

-Basic knowledge of R, Python and other computer languages is desired.

-Demonstrated outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.

-No more than one year of post-doc experience.
