Job Description:
Virus-Insect interactions in the insect midgut

A postdoctoral position is available at the Boyce Thompson Institute at Cornell University, for a highly motivated scientist to study virus-insect interactions in insect midgut epithelial cells. The project will utilize next-generation sequencing approaches to study transcriptome responses and regulation in virus-infected lepidopteran midgut cells. The project is expected to contribute to a basic understanding of permissive and non-permissive virus-insect interactions in the insect gut, with particular emphasis on and relevance to insect midgut transcriptional responses to baculovirus infection, and viral pathogenesis of agriculturally-important insect pest species.
