Job Description:
An NIH-fund Center of Excellence in Big Data to Knowledge (BD2K) at the University of Pittsburgh has multiple openings for outstanding postdoctoral researchers. The center concentrates on developing and applying different machine learning algorithms, particularly Bayesian causal inference methods, in biomedical setting. We are recruiting outstanding computer scientists, bioinformatics, and computational biologists to participate in the research activities of the center. Research themes include Bayesian network learning, graph theory, semantic modeling, topic modeling, and deep learning. The Department of Biomedical Informatics has a long and outstanding history of training independent researchers in biomedical informatics. The University of Pittsburgh is an active research center of biomedical research; the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University jointly create an outstanding academic environment for computational biology and translational bioinformatics.

Qualifications:

• Required: PhD or equivalent in computer science, bioinformatics, or statistics.

• Required skill: Strong programming ability in one of programming languages (C/C++, Java, or Python).

• Preferred Experience: Training in machine learning or bioinformatics data analysis.

• Others: Excellent presentation and writing skills in English.
