Budgeted - with benefits Position open to internal candidates only? No Location College Station/Bryan Major/Essential Duties of Job Perform field work and conduct laboratory work (assist with compliance); Perform bioinformatics, population genetics and statistical analysis; Prepare manuscripts, reports and proposals; Prepare and deliver scientific presentations; Train and supervise graduate and undergraduate students; Perform outreach activities; Create, maintain and update a website with information of the research activities and products Occasional Duties Other duties as assigned Required Education: Ph.D. in Population Genetics or related discipline Preferred Education: None Required Experience: Successful research track indicated by publications in peer-reviewed journals. Experience presenting research at professional conferences. Preferred Experience: Experience in population genetics data analysis. Experience gathering and analyzing high throughput DNA sequence data and microsatellites. Field work experience, especially in coastal habitats. Required licenses, certifications, or registrations: None Preferred licenses, certifications, or registrations: None Required special knowledge, abilities, and skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Familiarity with appropriate laboratory, farm and/or technical equipment. Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analyses, present data and perform other computer related tasks as directed by the supervisor. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Preferred special knowledge, abilities, and skills: None Other requirements or other factors: Ability to travel.
