Job Description:
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Santhosh Girirajan in the Departments of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Anthropology at The Pennsylvania State University to study the genetic basis of neurodevelopmental disorders including autism and intellectual disability. The goal of the research program is to analyze large datasets of genomic sequences and phenotypic information and develop novel approaches to understand the pathophysiology of disease. Applicants should have obtained a PhD in human genetics, bioinformatics, or computational biology and should ideally have previous experience with handling large datasets related to next-generation sequencing data. Applicants must have a significant motivation to study human genetic diseases, and should be confident, independent, and willing to supervise PhD candidates.
