Postdoctoral Scholar in Statistical and Computational GenomicsUniversity of ChicagoDepartment of Human Genetics60637-IL-Chicago Applications are invited for postdoctoral researchers to join Department of Human Genetics of University of Chicago. This will be a joint position between the groups of Dr. Xin He and Dr. Matthew Stephens. The research in our labs focuses on developing and employing computational/statistical tools to identify genes and regulatory elements involved in complex diseases. We take integrative approaches combining GWAS, whole exome/genome sequencing data, transcriptome and epigenomic data. Some potential projects include, but are not limited to: (1) Estimating rates of mutations, both germline and somatic, in human genome and identification of driver mutations for complex diseases, including cancer. (2) Analysis of systems genetic data, such as expression or DNA methylation QTL, in the context of human diseases. The applicant(s) is expected to hold a doctoral degree in a related field, such as computational biology/bioinformatics, statistical genetics, (bio)statistics or computer science. Candidates with a degree in biological sciences are also encouraged to apply if they have demonstrated experience in computational or statistical work.
