Job Description:
We seek a talented, collaborative inter-disciplinary scientist to lead work on the computational analysis of high-dimensional tissue, cell, immune and molecular profiling data in close collaboration with Celgene’s strategic research & development partners. This individual will play a key scientific role leveraging innovative computational analysis strategies to empower data-driven decisions for therapeutic development programs in Celgene’s Research and Development organization.

The role focuses on development of innovative disease segmentation, patient selection and predictive biomarker development approaches suitable for translation into clinical application, working closely with our therapeutic development partners, leaders in Celgene’s Translational Development, Diagnostics and Disease teams and colleagues in Research Informatics and Knowledge Utilization (RIKU).

Collaborating directly with key Celgene partners to develop patient selection strategies, the successful candidate will specialize in leading-edge computational research approaches for biologically informed disease stratification, enrichment of patient response to therapy, and elucidation of complex therapeutic mechanisms.

As part of the RIKU organization, an additional component of the role will be to partner with Research Analytics group colleagues within Immune-Oncology, I&I and TDD thematic centers of excellence (TCoEs) to research disease stratification and elucidate of complex therapeutic mechanisms across Celgene's immune-related programs.

The position would suit an individual with demonstrated scientific leadership skills and excellent communication and collaboration skills. Applications are encouraged from those looking to bridge the gap between academic and industrial research environments to impact delivery of truly innovative and life-changing therapies for complex diseases of unmet medical need.

The role will involve collaboration with colleagues both within Celgene Research & Early Development and our strategic partners across the following key areas:

•Discover and develop patient selection strategies and biomarkers leading to clinical trial assays

•Collaborate with strategic partners on indication identification and prioritization

•Leverage integrated molecular & immune-profiling datasets from clinical studies, external partnerships and public datasets and collaborating closely with members of Celgene’s extensive partner network to achieve the above.

Keen interest in inter-disciplinary application of computational methods to life sciences data is imperative. We are particularly interested to hear from individuals with deep knowledge of immune-modulatory therapies, skills in systems-level analysis of molecular assay data, and stratification of large collections of patient molecular profiling data in key indications. Understanding of response assessment criteria in Hem/Onc is desirable.

Responsibilities:

Working in collaboration with computational, biological and clinical scientists across the Celgene Research and Early Development organization and our strategic partner network, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•Provide collaborative leadership to develop patient-centric indication prioritization, disease stratification and patient selection strategies working in close collaboration with Celgene external partners.

•Pursue and supervise leading computational biology research towards key Celgene scientific objectives, including line management of research staff.

•Coordinate application of novel computational analysis and biological interpretation approaches to leverage internal, public and partner datasets and empower data-driven decisions across therapeutic programs.

•Collaborate to investigate compound and disease properties and influence translational development and strategic partnership/licensing decisions.

•Integrate data across assay platforms and between pre-clinical experiments and clinical trials.

•Present methods, results and conclusions to a publishable standard.

•Drive strategic informatics collaborations with academic and commercial thought leaders to benefit therapeutic programs.

•Assist in developing and managing big data translational genomics projects in strategic disease areas of interest
