If you’re a Scientist looking for a new professional challenge with excellent prospects at a pharmaceutical company, then this could be a perfect fit – My client -one of the world’s 20 leading pharmaceutical companies- is looking for a Principal Scientist (Computational Biology) to join their Research Department located in an idyllic town in Southern Germany.

They have three main groups (Expert, Core and Partner) and are looking for a Scientist to join their partner group. If you have sufficient experience working in the following Therapeutic Areas (Cardiometabolic Disease, Immune Modulation, Neurology, CNS, etc.), then, in addition to the other core skills required, this could be a good fit for you!

Your Main Responsibilities As a Principal Scientist Will Include:

-Working with dedicated partners for different therapeutic area departments (e.g. Cardiology, Respiratory, Oncology, etc.)

-Liaising proactively with Therapeutic Area Scientists and devising solutions to their scientific queries using computational biology approaches

-Ensuring prioritization and tracking of computational biology projects and tasks in support of new therapeutic concept and biomarker research

-Proposing computational biology approaches, projects and external collaborations

-Acting as an Ambassador for other technologies in Target Discovery Research

-Backtranslating core target product profiles into new therapeutic concept plans

-Developing strong relationships with Head of Expert Team and other stakeholders

The Ideal Principal Scientist Will Be And/or Have:

-3-6 years’ PhD experience in Computational Biology.

-At least 2-4 years’ experience of team and project leadership.

-Strong expertise in using computational biology to advance scientific projects.

-Expertise in managing collaborative projects with multiple partners.

-Expertise in a broad range of bioinformatics tools and resources, broad knowledge of pharmacological processes.

-Good international network in the computational biology community
