Job Description:

With demonstrated core technical expertise in a field related to the design, development, and
commercialization of molecular diagnostics, the ideal candidate will have a broad background not
limited to biochemistry, chemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, protein chemistry, bioengineering or chemical engineering, but more importantly possesses an uncanny ability to squeeze out data and information to guide design and optimization efforts.

As a member of a highly matrixed and agile group, you will provide not only theoretical guidance and technical input for the team, but also be motivated in directing and guiding the professional
development of junior personnel. Strong communication skills are essential, as well as a passion for understanding the “why” in figuring out the “how”.

Responsibilities:
Conceptualize and lead the definition of novel assays and clinically-focused applications for the Genia Sequencing Platform Provide technical direction and guidance to optimize platform performance in terms of yield and sensitivity across a broad range of sample inputs and sample types. Lead the development of reagents and workflows under GMP and regulatory environments Who you are You’re someone who wants to influence your own development. Ph.D. in, molecular biology, biology, cellular biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline with 2+ years of post-doctoral experience or M. Sc. with 5+ years experience in an industry setting Deep understanding of and hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques related to NGS library preparation from both DNA and RNA Deep understanding of and hands-on experience with nucleic acid isolation and purification methods. Experience with liquid handling instrumentation a plus Exceptional data analysis skills. Familiarity with statistical packages (R, JMP), analysis software (MatLab, numpy), standard bioinformatics tools, or scripting languages (Python, Perl) a plus Meticulous attention to detail and excellent written and electronic record keeping skills Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with exceptional oral and written communication skills
