Program Summary
The Thermo Fisher Scientific Product Development Leadership Program is designed to accelerate the development of high potential college graduates and prepare them for dynamic careers within research and development at Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Stakeholders
The program is managed by a dedicated Program Manager with oversight by senior company leaders.
Program Design
The program prepares participants for roles of increasing responsibility through a combination of structured learning, formalized feedback and mentoring. Program participants will have the opportunity to interact with senior leaders and participate in various networking and learning initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for product team activities relative to the applications associated with product development. This involves investigating technologies and patent positions related to assigned projects, helping to define product applications, specifications and system verification testing plans, as well as development and execution of system validation test plans
Participate in voice of the customer initiatives aimed at defining customer’s needs for new and improved products and services
Work with development teams to identify new applications in protein, protein interactions, and protein analysis and relates these applications to Thermo Fisher’s capabilities and products to allow the capture of new markets
Develop journal articles and applications notes, and present papers to support products at scientific meetings and trade shows as requested Work with other team members to develop sales and field applications technical training programs and participate in their execution Participate in system demonstrations that cannot be performed by field applications chemists
Work with Division Technologists to investigate new technologies through idea generation and participation in specific, approved technology projects
Help to specify and develop technical support materials and user manuals for new and current products
Other duties as required
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
BS, MS or PhD degree in life sciences (biochemistry, biology, chemistry, physics or related) discipline required GPA of 3.0 or higher
Degree completed between December 2013 and July 2014
Preferred 1-3 years of relevant experience and interest in protein, protein interactions, protein analysis, or some related area
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities necessary to perform essential functions:
High level of technology fluency to understand and properly communicate the technology associated with assigned products. High energy level with ability to take initiative.
Proven reasoning abilities and sound judgment.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
·Windows, MSOffice proficiency.
Locations: These positions may be located in various offices across the U.S. Geographic flexibility is required.
