Job Description:
RTI International has an opening for the upcoming Summer 2017 Computer Programmer/Analyst Internship within the Analytic Chemistry & Pharmaceutics Group. This internship will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to expand their knowledge of computer programming in a variety of ways. The overall objective of the Molecular Atlas of Lung Development Program (LungMAP) is to develop a molecular atlas of the developing lung from human and mouse to serve as a unique reference resource for the research community. BREATH (Bioinformatics REsource ATlas for the Healthy lung) at RTI will use in-depth computer programing, database development, and bioinformatics skills that will create a highly functional, integrated, publicly accessible platform that will facilitate analysis of data generated by the LungMAP Research Centers to advance our understanding of molecular lung development. The intern will work with RTI programmers and software engineers to develop multiple software tools for use in BREATH, including tools for studying omics and visualization of the developing lung. The intern will learn how to code software in Java/Perl/R and to develop software specific for use in BREATH. The LungMAP project will run for two more years past May 2017, so the intern will have the opportunity to work with RTI in various capacities over the length of the project.

Additional Info:
This is a paid internship for Summer 2017 in our Research Triangle Park, NC office. This position requires a commitment of 20 hours a week. Internship will begin early June of the Summer and may continue through to May 2018.
