Job Description:
This is a new position intended to strengthen our evidence-based decision-making by applying rigorous data analysis to data from our patient registry, tissue bank, other data proprietary platforms and clinical collaborators. The position is full-time with benefits and is located at our headquarters office in Wayne, New Jersey. This is an in-person position, so no remote applications please. Salary will be based upon experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with both structured and unstructured data to detect data patterns, including causal relationships, risk factors, prevention targets and, most importantly, relationships to survival and quality of life
  • Plans, designs, and conducts case studies, cohort studies, and surveys using the Life Raft Group Patient Registry and clinical datasets
  • Plans and manages global surveillance of clinical data, treatment outcomes, and drug side effects, including but not limited to long term therapy issues
  • Partners with other institutions to provide database analysis for collaborative studies with outside researchers
  • Ensures consistency throughout and integration of data sets
  • Contributes research findings to abstracts, submits manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals and is able to present at scientific conferences
  • Prepares and submits grant applications to external sponsors
  • Creates visualizations that clearly explain relevant findings to non-scientific audiences
  • Works closely with our Executive Director, Patient Registry Team, and global academic partners
Qualifications:
  • Ph.D/Master's in Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, or other quantitative discipline
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing and analyzing data
  • Fluent in modern advanced analytical tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Ruby, etc.), databases (SQL) and cloud-based systems
  • Understands cancer biology and genomics
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve issues quickly
  • Excellent quantitative skills with ability to connect the dots and detect patterns
  • Computer knowledge and proficiency in statistical and analytic software packages; ability to learn additional programming languages as needed
  • Experience in electronic data management, particularly obtaining and processing electronic data
  • Strong statistical skill set and scientific writing experience
  • Curious and pragmatic with a sense of humor
  • Active participant in a collaborative process, self-motivated, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and communicate in cross-functional environment
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to discuss data, modeling and analysis with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Highly motivated with strong attention to detail and organization
