Job Description:
The Department of Internal Medicine (Division of Cardiovascular Medicine) invites applications for a MS- or PhD-level statistical genetic analyst. The successful candidate will join a collegial and productive research team focused on genetic research projects related to cardiovascular disease and human health. Work will involve leading analyses related to human genetic data from various datasets and integration of this data with public databases using bioinformatics. This is an opportunity to work in a challenging and rewarding research area that constantly poses new scientific and statistical problems. Salary support is available based on level of experience.

Required Qualifications:

Necessary qualifications for the position include a Master's or PhD degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Genetics, Epidemiology, or a related discipline; knowledge of statistics and genetics; experience with statistical software (R, SAS) or other programming languages (Python, Perl, C++); a strong work ethic; the ability to work independently combined with willingness to work in an interactive and collegial group; and excellent written and oral communication skills; 4-5 years of experience in a related field.

Desired Qualifications:

Desired qualifications include experience in the management of large datasets; programming skills; and knowledge of statistical genetics and database management software.
