Job Description:
The primary purpose of the Research Assistant II is to provide technical and coordination skills in carrying out various research projects.

Ideal candidate will have a strong computational background, proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. R, Perl, Python, Java, C++) and knowledge of statistics are required. Training experience in machine learning, deep learning and experience working in high-performance computing cluster environment is highly preferred.

Key Functions:

  • Build automated bioinformatics pipelines for processing and downstream analysis of NGS and single cell sequencing data; test, fine tune the pipeline parameters and optimize the bioinformatics flow.
  • Build computational frameworks for high-dimensional data integration.
  • Conduct integrative analysis of multi-platform data for novel biomarker discovery, interpret and report the results.
  • Build predictive models to predict the response probability to clinical management, clinical outcomes, the relapse risks, the onset and severity of treatment-related toxicities, etc.
  • Reads literature and confers with supervisor regarding new perspectives.
  • Help with results interpretation, presentation, and publication.
  • Work with other lab members and collaborators on various projects.
Education:

Required: Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.

Preferred: Master’s degree with major course work in bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics or a related field. Experience

Required:Two years experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
