Job Description:
This Bioinformatician post will play a role in the analysis and interpretation of neuroimaging data sets in a multidisciplinary environment. The overall theme is focused on applying novel analytical bioinformatics methods and machine learning techniques to imaging data. In particular,

  • To plan, direct and undertake research into developing novel machine learning techniques
  • To apply bioinformatics models and machine leaning techniques used in other disciplines to high-dimensional neuroimaging data
  • To provide support to collaborators in the IoPPN through training and sharing of the data/ bioinformatics methodologies
  • To model the effects of disorder and intervention on MRI parameters.
  • To present results of scientific bioinformatics research to conferences and meetings; prepare reports and publish papers outlining the methodology and results of research undertaken
The successful candidate will be a member of a diverse multidisciplinary team with a neuroimaging core encompassing neuroscience, psychopharmacology, physics and analysis.

The post holder will be a highly motivated and innovative Bioinformatician with background in neuroimaging and neuroimaging analysis, engineering, machine learning techniques and statistical methods.

The selection process will include a panel interview with competency based questions.

The salary will be paid at Grade 5, £28,098 to £32,548 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be Fixed Term Contract for 48 months

This is a Full-time, 100% full time equivalent
