Job Description:
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago has an open position for a Research Assistant Professor in Statistical Genetics/ Bioinformatics. The position requires a PhD degree in statistical genetics, Genetic Epidemiology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, Genomics or related field.

Experience in using statistical software packages (such R, SAS), ability to conduct genetic association studies and statistical analyses, tests of gene x gene and gene x environment interactions. Experience in microarray or RNA-Seq data analysis is a plus. Familiarity with at least one scripting language (e.g. Perl, Python). Experience in a Linux/Unix environment. Willingness and capability to learn new technologies. Ability to work and learn independently, and be self- motivated. Excellent writing skills.
