Job Description:
This position requires someone who performs at the highest-level of professional research in support of a major research project. This person should be capable of planning and designing advanced research project(s).

Essential Functions and percent of time:

Characteristic duties and responsibilities are listed below. Any job description may include several or more of the following or similar duties. The list is not inclusive.

1. Design and execute the appropriate biological bioinformatics analyses for datasets that have been collected by AFRL Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation Team. 50%

2. Develop efficient pipelines for handling, transferring and processing of data from and through various programs and serve as technical consultant for AFRL and WSU. 20%

3. Propose biological and bioinformatics ideas and studies from ongoing projects at AFRL/WSU/Premier that will be the basis of future collaborations and assist with grant applications. 20%

4. Direct and coordinate other research assistants, technicians, and students. 10%

Minimum Qualifications:

A PhD degree in neuroscience, bioinformatics, biological sciences or related area with experience utilizing molecular or computational techniques to understand the mechanisms of physiological processes and behavior. This position also requires good organizational skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge and practice of complex research techniques and quality control methods and concepts; knowledge of biosafety. Due to the nature of the position with Air Force Research Lab, a US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience integrating multiple complex datasets (e.g. phenotype, genotype, epigenetic, transcriptomic, QTL, etc.) to advance our understanding of biological mechanisms is preferred.
