Research Assistant/AssociateDuke-NUS Medical SchoolCentre for Computational BiologySingapore A Research Associate position in Computational Biology is available in Prof. Sujoy Ghosh’s laboratory at the Centre for Computational Biology, Duke-NUS Medical School. Dr. Ghosh’s research applies computational systems biology approaches to understand the genetic and genomic architecture underlying metabolic disease. Additionally, the laboratory collaborates extensively with national and international investigators in cardiovascular and cancer-related disorders. Specifically, the Research Associate will have the opportunity to apply computational biology methodologies on traditional transcriptomics, next generation sequencing, and genome-wide association studies that will add significant value to several signature research programs at Duke-NUS. The position provides opportunities for the development and application of innovative, cutting-edge data analytic tools and approaches to enhance the research capabilities of multiple investigators in a highly collaborative framework. We are seeking a motivated candidate with a high level of research dedication and skill, who can quickly integrate into the research team and make productive contributions to the exciting field of high-dimensional data analysis. A Batchelor’s or Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines – Bioinformatics, Statistics, Biostatistics, or Computer Science is required. Applicant must be an independent thinker with excellent communication skills. The candidate must be familiar with handling and manipulation of large, multidimensional data sets and fluent in the use of the R statistical analysis tool. Experience with additional applications (e.g. Perl, SAS, Matlab or SAS) is highly desirable. Please note that this is NOT a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position and unlikely to be relevant to candidates holding a PhD or enrolled in a PhD program.
