Job Description:
A position is available for a research associate to conduct research within a project funded by BBSRC investigating the role of chromatin structure in gene expression in Drosophila melanogaster.

The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree at PhD level in a related subject area or relevant industrial experience, proven ability to publish in international journals and a proven portfolio of research and/or relevant industrial experience within at least 3 of the following research fields:

* Drosophila genetics

* Developmental biology, especially regulation of gene expression

* Molecular biology, including RNA and DNA purification, PCR, cloning.

* Cell biology, including FACS analysis.

* Illumina sequencing.

* Bioinformatics, especially analysis of data sets generated by high throughput sequencing such as RNA-seq, ChIP-seq and MNase-seq

his position is full-time and is fixed-term for 3 years.

Salary: £31,656 - £37,768 per annum (Grade 6). It is not anticipated that an appointment will be made above 6.33, currently £34,576 per annum.
