Job Description:
The Biology Department is looking for a Research Associate in the field of Bioinformatics and genomics. The successful candidate will analyze whole genome and transcript data from mammalian species, mammalian genome comparative analysis, gene annotation of specific mammalian species, GWAS and candidate gene mapping for specific phenotypes, identifying genes under positive natural selection. A Ph.D. in science, engineering, or computer science is required as well as experience with comparative genomic analysis in mammals. Required Skills include programming and implementation of software for DNA and protein sequence data analysis. Applications must be submitted electronically and include a cover letter and cv. This is a fixed-term position funded for one year from date of hire with possibility of refunding. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
