Job Description:
Applications are invited from experienced and highly motivated individuals to join the world-leading Experimental Epilepsy research group within the Department of Clinical and Experimental Epilepsy, UCL Institute of Neurology. The post holder will be involved in genomic and pharmacogenomics and functional studies, using clinical, phenotypic, genetic and functional data and patient phenotypes. Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant area, with a record of laboratory research and publication experience as part of a large-scale genetic association study or next-generation sequencing and analysis, including whole exome and/or genome data. The postholder must have proven experience of the use of relevant bioinformatics tools. Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills are essential, as is a meticulous approach to practical work, the ability to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team, and the ability to plan and execute experimental research. The post is available with immediate effect and is funded to January 2017 in the first instance by the Epilepsy Society. Starting salary on the UCL Grade 7 scale £33,353 – £36,161 per annum including London Allowance, superannuable.
