Job Description:
We are seeking a Research Associate I for our research and development division. You will be responsible for successfully and expediently designing and developing diagnostic and genomic assays spanning a wide range of sequencing and microarray technologies. You will also play a key role in designing, optimizing, validating, maintaining, and troubleshooting automation tools for our clinical diagnostic assays.
Job duties:
• Aid in the design and development of diagnostic and genomic assays for use in a CLIA/CAP regulated setting.
• Participates in drafting and developing Standard Operating Procedures for department.
• Assist with training of manual and automated protocols directly with the Clinical Department.
• General tasks will include but are not limited to: primer preparation, PCR, electrophoresis, gel photography and analysis, Next-Gen sequencing library preparation, Sanger Sequencing, aCGH microarrays, and sequencing analysis.
  Desired Skills/Experience
• BS or MS degree in a life sciences field only (Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, etc) .
• Strong understanding of Sanger Sequencing, Next-Generation Sequencing, and Microarrays preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to communicate and work effectively and positively with all levels of the organization is a must.
• Intermediate computer programming.
• Expertise with Microsoft Office products.
• Eligible to work in the US.
