Job Description:
The overall objective of the project is to collect and analyse large-scale molecular and patient data to aid personalizing treatment. The project will involve interfacing with national and international clinical and biological collaborators to develop and apply sophisticated models and algorithms carefully tuned to extract relevant biological and medical knowledge from systems-level real-world molecular and medical data, including whole genome sequences, epigenetic data, protein-protein interaction networks, signalling, metabolic networks, transcriptional regulation networks, gene and disease ontologies, drug similarity networks, drug-target interactions, drug-drug interactions, patient records, lifestyle data etc.

This post is funded for 12 months in the first instance.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD, or will shortly be assessed for a PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or related discipline and have knowledge of one or more of the following: bioinformatics, medical informatics, algorithms, statistics, machine learning, programming in C, C++, a scripting language, Matlab, using a parallel computing environment, scientific computing, data analysis, graph and complexity theory.

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £34,056 to £36,923 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
