Job Description:
A postdoctoral Research Associate position is available for an outstanding researcher. You will join the EPSRC funded ‘ACTION on cancer’ project that will develop a prototype Artificial Intelligence (AI) system designed to perform equally or better than human oncologists in selecting the best treatments for cancer. The appointee will be primarily responsible for integrating the AI system with biomedical knowledge bases, and automating use of this knowledge to plan experiments on the Robot Scientist ‘Eve’. A Robot Scientist is an autonomous laboratory automation system that applies artificial intelligence to automate the discovery of scientific knowledge through cycles of experimentation. You should have a PhD in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or bioinformatics, and you should be capable of working under your own initiative and as part of a team, so excellent communication and organisational skills are also required.
