Job Description:
We are seeking to appoint a talented bioinformatician (research associate/senior research associate) to efficiently manage and automate the handling of large scale genomic data in one of the most vibrant and data rich environments in the field of population based science and applied epidemiology.

The successful applicant will ideally have a strong background in statistical genetics and/or genetic epidemiology and will be qualified to the PhD level (or equivalent) in this field. Strong computing skills, experience in the handling of large-scale sensitive data sets, and an ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment would be an advantage.

The successful applicant will be a researcher who is familiar with large scale genomic data, adept at scripting, and who has excellent communication and team-working skills. The successful applicant will be based within the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) located within the Medical School, at the University of Bristol and closely aligned to the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit.
