Job Description:
This position is to assist a highly productive lab to analyze cutting edge genomic data relevant to metabolic disease. Specifically, studying mechanisms by which nuclear receptors link the regulation of gene transcription to metabolism. A candidate applying for this position should have a strong background in computer science or bioinformatics and an interest in biomedical research. The candidate will work directly with the computational biology postdoctoral fellow in the lab to assist in data analysis, manage the shared computing, infrastructure, and implement new research tools. Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Computer Science and 1 year to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Excellent communication and analytical skills. Basic knowledge of computer networks and administration, Linux, commands, and scripting languages required. Knowledge of Perl and R preferred.
