Job Description:
Applications are sought for a Research Fellow to join a team investigating the role of the tumour microenvironment in regulating anti-tumour immunity. The successful applicant will use RNA sequencing (including single cell sequencing), digital pathology and in vitro/in vivo models to investigate targetable mechanisms regulating tumour immune evasion. The questions under investigation will require the use of a range of techniques required for analysis of human tissues (RNA sequencing & digital pathology analysis) functional cell biology and mouse models of immunotherapy. The postholder will also have the opportunity to contribute ideas and expertise to other studies going on within the group and Unit. The research will be based in the Experimental Pathology Group within the Cancer Sciences Unit of the Faculty of Medicine.

Essential requirements for this post include a PhD in Biological Sciences or Bioinformatics (or equivalent professional qualifications and experience) and detailed understanding and knowledge of cells of the tumour microenvironment, including sequencing and image analysis. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential.

This full-time post is available from 1st June 2018 for a period of two years. The benefits package for this post includes 30 days leave plus 6 University closure days, flexible working hours and a childcare vouchers scheme.

Contract type: Full-time, fixed-term for 24 months.

CRUK funding for this post is available for 24 months with the possibility of extension, subject to the availability of further funding.
