Job Description:
The Channing Division of Network Medicine (CDNM) at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), is seeking candidates for a post-doctoral position to perform multi-disciplinary research using machine learning approaches to characterize chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) heterogeneity and longitudinal aspects of disease progression. This project has access to a uniquely rich resource of multidimensional data including longitudinal clinical data, CT radiographic imaging, and whole genome and RNA sequencing data. The main goal for the postdoctoral candidate will be to apply appropriate machine learning and traditional statistical modeling methods to characterize clinically relevant aspects of, and identify molecular markers and mechanisms associated with COPD disease progression for use in translational research studies and targeted clinical trials.

Qualifications:

This position requires a motivated candidate with a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, statistics, or computer science, previous experience in machine learning and genomic analysis, and good writing skills. The candidate will work directly with Drs. Michael Cho and Peter Castaldi, as well as in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary research group including Dr. Vincent Carey, Division Chief Dr. Edwin Silverman, and scientists from GSK. Interested candidates should send their CV to Dr. Michael Cho or Dr. Peter Castaldi, CDNM, 181 Longwood Ave, Boston MA 02115 or via email to channingpostdoc.pjc@channing.harvard.edu.
