Job Description:
We seek to recruit a Research Fellow in Bioinformatics & Training to focus on training and outreach within the PhenoMeNal project. The post holder will contribute significantly to developing and maintaining online training courses as well as developing and delivering face-to-face training workshops, all focused on how to use and implement the PhenoMeNal e-infrastructure. Additionally they will collaborate with developers and researchers within the project to support the development and maintenance of the e-infrastructure. Applicants should hold a PhD (or equivalent experience) in Informatics (including bioinformatics or cheminformatics), Computer Science or Computational Biology.

Full time starting salary is normally in the range £29,301 to £38,183. With potential progression once in post to £40,523 a year. Fixed term until 31 August 2018 Metabolomics – the study of the myriad of small molecules of life – has the potential to revolutionise biomedicine through personalised and stratified approaches to healthcare. PhenoMeNal (Phenome and Metabolome aNalysis) is an EU H2020 grant to create an international e-infrastructure for large-scale computing and analysis of medical metabolomics data. This €8M project, distributed over 14 partners across Europe, is developing and deploying an integrated, secure, permanent, on-demand service-driven, privacy-compliant and sustainable e-infrastructure for the processing, analysis and information-mining of massive amounts of medical metabolomics and genotyping data.
