University of Warwick Warwick Medical School Division of Translational and Systems Medicine Research Fellow in Genomes of Bacterial Pathogens Microbiology and Infection Unit £28,695 – £37,394 per annum Ref: 75214-104 Fixed Term Contract for 2 Years You will join the laboratory of Professor Mark Achtman at Warwick Medical School and take responsibility for high-throughput, genomic sequencing of Salmonella enterica and other bacterial pathogens. You will be responsible for population genomic analyses of large datasets in order to elucidate historical patterns of host specificity and geographic transmissions. Demonstrable excellence in research will be the main criterion for appointment, as evidenced by high-impact peer-reviewed publications in a relevant subject. You will have a PhD in bioinformatics, microbiology, biochemistry or a related subject and will be expected to make a positive contribution to our research. Experience of bioinformatic analyses of genomic datasets and in population genetics are also important.
